A Relaxed Welsh Wedding with Ibiza Vibes

A North Wales wedding was Holly and Mike’s dream for a relaxed Welsh wedding. Having visited since childhood, the couple had fond memories that they wanted to add a very special one to – their wedding day. With the chapel, reception and accommodation all on one site, Nant Gwrtheryn on the Llyn Peninsula, had everything they needed.

A Laid-Back Welsh Wedding

The venue provided the most stunning backdrop for their wedding photographs, with dramatic Welsh cliffs, beautiful beach and vast woodland. Holly’s dress was created just for her by Emma Beaumont, and they opted for simple wedding décor full of greenery and foliage. Holly and Mike chose a short traditional wedding ceremony, with plenty of happy tears and laughter, followed by a celebration with a Welsh-inspired menu that reflected the venue’s heritage.

Holly and Mike wanted a unique Mancunian/Welsh/Ibiza vibe for the entertainment, which included Holly’s sister’s boyfriend performing some busker-style tunes on an acoustic guitar, overlooking the Welsh beach. A saxophonist playing old-school Ibiza tracks as the sun set in true White Isle-style added to the atmosphere, and then the couple threw a DJ into the mix to finish off the party.

Friends and family played a major part in the planning and organising of the day, with flowers lovingly created by one of Holly’s closest friends, a cake baked by Holly’s aunt, an expert cake-maker, and stationery designed by a colleague. This included ‘wed-lib’ cards that guests could complete with marital advice for the couple.

Candid and Natural Photography

Holly and Mike told me that I was recommended to them, and Holly explained, “As soon as I looked at your site, I knew you were the one for us! Your candid and natural yet cool photography style was exactly what I was looking for and your professionalism and communication throughout the whole process was second to none. All of our family and friends commented on how good you were on the day – we barely even knew you were there, and you made us feel so comfortable and relaxed.”

Stress-Free Wedding Planning Advice

The couple wanted a relaxed wedding day, and Holly told me that she focused on creating fun and enjoying spending time with their loved ones, when they were planning. She told me, “I think this really helped in making it a stress-free experience, and the more relaxed you are, the more natural your photos will be too. Just chill, have fun and make it the best day ever.”
