Asylum Chapel Wedding

Rosie & Kenji’s Asylum Chapel Wedding – A Cinematic London Love Story

FROM LA TO SAN DIEGO, SANTA BARBARA & BEYOND…

A Moody, Atmospheric London Wedding with Heart & Soul

London weddings have a special kind of magic. The city’s energy, history, and architecture create an incredible backdrop for couples looking for something raw, real, and full of character. Rosie & Kenji’s wedding at Asylum Chapel was exactly that—cinematic, intimate, and effortlessly cool.

If you’re planning a London wedding, love the idea of candid, filmic photography, and want something that captures the feeling of the day, this one’s for you.

Asylum Chapel – The Perfect Backdrop for a London Wedding

Tucked away in Peckham, Asylum Chapel is one of the most unique wedding venues in London. Raw textures, peeling paint, and stained-glass windows give it a cinematic, moody aesthetic—perfect for couples who want a venue with soul and history rather than a blank canvas.

Rosie & Kenji chose this space because they wanted a wedding that felt unpolished yet deeply personal, a space that didn’t need over-styling or decoration. The venue itself did the talking.

Candid Photography in the Heart of the City

Their wedding wasn’t about stiff poses or staged moments. It was about capturing the real energy of the day—the quiet glances, the laughter in between speeches, the light filtering through the chapel’s historic windows.

This is exactly why I shoot the way I do: documentary-style, with a touch of cinematic framing. I want the photos to feel like stills from a film—something that looks cool now, but will also stand the test of time.

After the ceremony, we took a walk through London’s backstreets, letting the city guide us. No forced posing, no awkward moments—just them, soaking in the moment together. If you love the idea of your wedding photos feeling natural and effortless, that’s exactly how I like to work.

City Wedding Inspiration: How to Make London Feel Intimate

Planning a London wedding but want to keep it personal, fun, and full of character? Here’s what Rosie & Kenji did:

📍 Chose a venue with characterAsylum Chapel’s history and textures meant they didn’t need to over-style the space.
🎞 Focused on real moments – No rigid timelines or long photo sessions, just the moments as they happened.
🎷 Added personal touches – A live jazz band set the vibe, and their friends played a huge part in making the day feel intimate.
🚶‍♂️ Embraced the city – Instead of feeling restricted by a venue, they explored Peckham’s streets, bars, and neon-lit corners for photos.
