Couples Session Guide
You’ve probably never done this before…

01.
About your session
My couple shoots are relaxed, natural, and effortless—just the two of you, spending time together while I document it. No stiff poses, no awkward moments—just a chance to capture who you are, without overthinking it.
We’ll walk, chat, and find the best light. I’ll guide when needed, but mostly, I step back and let you be yourselves. The result? A collection of images that feel honest, full of movement, and completely you.
This isn’t about performing for the camera—it’s about capturing the way you actually are together. Whether that’s laughing, wandering, or just standing still, taking it all in.
Want to keep it simple? Let’s shoot somewhere familiar. Want an adventure? I’m up for it. The only rule is: be yourselves, and I’ll handle the rest.
02. Scheduling your session
The Right Light, The Right Time, The Right Place
The best time to shoot? Golden hour—just before sunset—when the light is soft, warm, and everything looks incredible. But if that doesn’t work for you, no worries. I can shoot in any light, any time of day, and we’ll still create something beautiful.
Weekday evenings are ideal—quieter streets, emptier parks, fewer distractions. If weekends are better for you, we’ll make it work, but booking ahead helps secure the best timing.
If you’re using these photos for Save the Dates, I recommend scheduling at least 5 months before your wedding to allow for edits and printing. Otherwise, we can plan for whatever feels right.
Got a specific place in mind? Great. If not, I have a few favorite spots that photograph beautifully. Let’s pick a date and make it happen.

03. Location
Familiar, Scenic, or a Little Unexpected?
Where we shoot is completely up to you. Maybe it’s somewhere meaningful—your favorite coffee spot, the street where you first met, or a quiet park you always walk through together. Maybe you just want great light and an open space. Either way, I’ll help you find the perfect setting.
If you’re up for an adventure, we can head somewhere wild—clifftops, forests, city rooftops, or even an empty car park if the light hits just right. It doesn’t have to be obvious to be beautiful.
Wherever we go, the focus is on you. The location just adds to the story.
04. What to wear and bring
Wear What Feels Like You
The best photos happen when you’re comfortable, so wear something that feels like you—not something that feels forced. If you love wearing jeans and a t-shirt, go for it. If you want to dress it up a bit, that’s great too. The only thing I’d avoid? Anything overly distracting—big logos, neon colors, or anything you’ll look back on and regret.
A few tips:
• Neutral and earthy tones always photograph well.
• Layers add texture and give you options.
• Flowy fabrics and movement-friendly outfits look great on camera.
• Avoid anything too matchy-matchy—coordinated, not identical, is the way to go.
What to bring? Anything that makes sense for the shoot—jackets if it’s cold, comfortable shoes if we’re walking, maybe a drink to toast at the end. If you have a dog and they’re part of your story, bring them too.
Most importantly—just come as you are, and I’ll take care of the rest.
