Nancarrow Farm Wedding – A Hidden Summer Escape
FROM LA TO SAN DIEGO, SANTA BARBARA & BEYOND…
There’s something about Nancarrow Farm that feels like an escape. More than just a venue, it’s a place outside of time. It’s where the world slows, the air hums with warmth, and, for a day, nothing else exists except celebration.
Tucked away in the Cornish countryside, it could be anywhere. A sun-drenched pocket of Italy. The rustic elegance of the South of France. Or simply, a perfect, secluded corner of England.
A Hidden Gem in the Cornish Countryside
On this summer’s day, friends and family gathered to celebrate, slipping into the hidden retreat where wildflowers swayed in the breeze, and vegetable gardens spilled over with life. Meanwhile, the scent of warm earth and woodsmoke drifted through the air. Timeless stone buildings framed the scene, holding stories of the past, while laughter echoed between them, adding to the magic of the day.

Getting Ready at Nancarrow Farm
The Groom’s Preparations
Adam and his friends spent the morning in The Old Mill, a beautifully restored Grade II listed barn at Nancarrow Farm. Meanwhile, upstairs, the oversized living space felt calm yet charged with quiet anticipation. As sunlight filtered through the old beams, it caught dust motes in the air, casting shifting patterns across the room. At the same time, the scent of cut grass and woodsmoke drifted through open windows, gradually mixing with the warmth of morning coffee and whiskey.
Meanwhile, cufflinks and glasses rested on the long wooden table. As laughter surfaced in brief moments between them. At the same time, the distant hum of guests arriving floated through the air. It gradually mingled with the occasional burst of conversation. Beyond the windows, across the green, the old wooden chapel stood waiting—steadfast and still. It seemed as if it had watched mornings like this unfold a hundred times before. In this quiet moment, time seemed to stretch just a little longer. It allowed them a final breath before the day fully began.
The Bride’s Morning – The Chicken Suite
Line and her bridesmaids spent the morning in The Chicken Suite. This secluded retreat was tucked behind the venue, nestled near Nancarrow’s greenhouse and salad garden. Originally, it was a humble chicken shed. However, over time, it had been transformed into a light-filled sanctuary—perfect for pre-ceremony preparations.
As golden morning light streamed through the windows, it warmed the wooden floors. It gently illuminated soft pastels of dresses. Meanwhile, bouquets rested on the table. They were carefully arranged alongside scattered makeup brushes and half-finished cups of coffee. This created a scene of quiet anticipation.
The scent of fresh lavender mixed with perfume and brewing coffee. Gradually filling the air with a sense of calm.
At the same time, outside, the world stirred as guests arrived, their voices carrying on the breeze. Their voices signaled that the day had begun. Yet inside, time seemed to slow, allowing Line just long enough to take a breath before stepping forward. In that fleeting pause, anticipation gently settled around her, preparing her for the moment ahead.

A Moment of Creativity
For the first time, I photographed a wedding dress hanging in a tree. At that moment, it felt fitting—the light filtering through the leaves, the dress swaying gently as if it belonged there. Here at Nancarrow Farm, time felt abundant, space endless, creativity free-flowing.
This place does that; it gives you room to breathe, to be present, and to absorb everything happening around you. Because of this, I could move freely, capturing details without distraction.

Celebrations in the Barn
As the day unfolded, children darted between the gardens, guests laughed in the sunshine, and whiskey toasts echoed in the barn. The afternoon stretched out—long and unhurried—punctuated by the satisfying thud of a hammer as guests attempted to drive a nail into a wooden stump in a single strike. Like the rest of the day, it was simple yet compelling, a reminder of the joy in shared moments.
As the evening settled in, the warmth lingered, wrapping everyone in the kind of atmosphere only a place like this can create. Soon after, the last light dipped below the trees, bringing the day to a gentle close.
